One of the NSPD Detectives at New Splooge City, Detective Zyx Mercer is the newly assigned partner to Detective Castella. Her "by-the-books" mentality can be a bit irritating to Sydney, which might be why she is her partner, to keep Sydney out of trouble and at bay.

Zyx's childhood was about as normal as could be. City life, plenty of friends and family. She never ran into any issues growing up. She became a police officer to follow in her father's footsteps. There does seem to be a gap of information lost between the time when she became a police officer and now a detective.
